On September 21st St. Anne School will celebrate 65 years as part of the Rock Hill community. This small school opened its doors in 1951 with 17 students and has been welcoming children of all faiths ever since. St. Anne has a rich history of inclusion and diversity as it was the first racially integrated school in the state of South Carolina in 1954. A historical marker was created in 2009 to commemorate this event. St. Anne is a K3-11th grade school that will graduate its first High School class in 2018. Children are able to begin their academic career at age three and continue through their 12th grade year. While much growth and change has occurred over the past 65 years, the goal remains the same: to foster the God-given gifts and talents of each student, whether academic, artistic, or athletic, and to provide a nurturing environment that is conducive to meeting that goal. This small school has made significant progress, not just throughout its history, but recently. St. Anne saw an 18% student increase in the past year, bringing the total student body to 350. In order to continue this growth, they will host an Open House on Wednesday, October 26th for Middle and High school students and families with hopes of moving toward the next 65 years. St. Anne School is grateful to have received support from the Rock Hill and surrounding communities that have helped them reach this amazing milestone. www.stanneschool.com Submitted by : Michele Burns School Advancement St. Anne School [email protected]
